Mrs. Betty Hogan Matthews, 83 of Gainesville formerly of Tifton, Georgia Thursday February 21, 2013 at her son's residence.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday February 24, 2013 at the First Baptist Church of Chula, Ga. Interment will follow in the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Tifton, Ga.
The family will receive friends at the Bowen-Donaldson Funeral Home in Tifton from 3-8 p.m. Saturday February 23, 2013
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law; Rev. David & Cindy Matthews, Gainesville, Ga., Jim & Vicki Matthews, Destin, Fla., Ed & Lynn Matthews, Locust Grove, Ga., sister, Virginia Sedlick, St. Louis, Mo., 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren also survive.
Mrs. Matthews is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Homer Matthews.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to one's favorite charity or Helping Hands Foreign Missions.
