Patricia Ann Treutle

Obituary Date: Thursday, February 21, 2013
Patricia Ann Treutle, age 59, peacefully passed away February 21, 2013 at her home in Flowery Branch, GA, after an arduous battle with cancer.

Patricia was born August 6, 1953, in Lacon, Illinois, the daughter of Donald Eugene Westefer and Evelyn Lucille Durst.
Patty attended Mid County High School in Lacon, Illinois, before attending Northern Illinois University in Dekalb, Illinois, where she graduated with honors. Later in life, Patricia furthered her education by receiving a Master of Art's Degree and consecutively earning an Education Specialist Degree from Piedmont University. To say she was an "overachiever" is putting it mildly.

In 1983, Patricia graduated from the police academy in Ft. Lauderdale, FL were she served as Police officer and detective for 13 years before retiring and finding the love of her life, Steven Harold Treutle, who was a detective with FLPD as well. Upon retiring from the Police Department, Patricia and Steve moved to Illinois and subsequently Georgia, where Patty taught math and English at Buford High School and Buford Middle School for 12 years.

Patty is survived by her two children, Ryan and Carryn Owens, Virginia Beach, VA and Kristen Treutle, Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Brooke Owens, Luke Owens and Taryn Owens; mother, Evelyn Lucille Westefer, Chillicothe, IL; sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Marty Parrish, Sparland, IL; brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Becky Westefer, Missoula, MT; and several nieces and nephews along with many neighbors and friends.

Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Prince Of Peace Catholic Church with Father Patrick Scully as Celebrant. Patricia wished to be cremated and requested her funeral be held at Prince Of Peace Catholic Church in Flowery Branch. After the funeral service, she will be buried in Illinois with her husband Steven Treutle. The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her during her illness.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Wounded Warrior, Navy Seal Foundation, or St. Vincent De Paul at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in memory of Patricia Ann Treutle.
