Edgar 'Ed' Flanders

Mr. Edgar "Ed" Flanders, age 78, of Buford, GA passed away Thursday, February 28, 2013.

He is survived by his wife of twenty-five years, Janis Sprinkle Flanders, Buford, GA; children, Michael and Teresa Flanders, Greensboro, NC, Debbie and Tim Vanderbeek, Haiti, Laura and Brian Kennedy, Gill, CO and Bruce and Caren Flanders, Buford, GA; nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren; and brother and sister in law, Jimmy and Susan Flanders, Waycross, GA.

Mr. Flanders was born October 4, 1934 in Waycross, GA and was a 1952 graduate of Waycross High School. He attended the University of Georgia in Athens, GA and was retired from Eastman Kodak after thirty-one years. He was an avid Georgia bulldog fan, golfer, and he enjoyed sailing, reading and photography. He attended Cross Pointe Church in Duluth, GA.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, March 4, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Dr. Gerald Harris officiating. There will be a visitation after the service at the home of Bruce and Caren Flanders. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center, 743 Spring St., Gainesville, GA 30501 in memory of Edgar Flanders.
