Ellen Gaskins Faulkner

Evans Funeral Home announces the home going of Mrs. Ellen Gaskins Faulkner, age 97, of Jefferson.

Mrs. Faulkner was born in Berrien Co., Nashville, Ga. She lived in the community, along with her husband, Carson Daniel Faulkner until 1948, when they moved from their farm & purchased Willacoochee Cash Store. They later added The Fabric Shop & operated both businesses until retirement in 1982. Carson Faulkner passed away in 1984. Mrs. Faulkner remained in Willacoochee until 1991. With much prayer & God's guidance, she moved from the communities that she loved so dearly, to Lawrenceville, Ga., to be near her daughters and family. In 2006 she moved again with family to Jefferson, Ga. Mrs. Faulkner passed away on Thursday, February 28, 2013. Mrs. Faulkner was a member of Riverside Missionary Baptist Church in Nashville, Ga. She was preceded in death by her husband Carson Daniel Faulkner, father Lacey Leon Gaskins, mother Tennessee Vickery Gaskins, sisters Tishie Vickers, Ila Mae Crosby, brothers, Roy Gaskins, Preston Gaskins, Leon Gaskins, Manning Gaskins, 2 great grandchildren, Daniel Madison Goza, Carson Mackenzie Lisle.

Survivors include daughters, Jenetta Lisle and Brenda Armstrong, and son-in-law Wayne Lisle, all of Jefferson, grandchildren, Dareyl Wayne Lisle and wife Sallie, Jennifer Lisle Goza and husband Lee, Ellen Lisle Semones and husband David and 15 great grandchildren.

Visitation for the Jefferson friends & family will be held on Sat., March 2, from 2-5pm. In lieu of flowers locally, donations may be made to Faith Baptist Church Missionary Fund PO Box 427 Jefferson, Ga. 30549.

The funeral service will be Sat., March 9, 2013 at 1:00pm. Body will lie in state from 12:00 to 12:45 pm at Riverside Missionary Baptist Church in Nashville, Ga. Interment to follow at Riverside Cemetery.

Please join the family immediately following the service for visitation, hugs and memories, light refreshments and video of life and times of the Faulkner family.
