Ford ( Tinker) Melton Ash, Jr.

Ford (Tinker) Melton Ash, Jr., age 53 of Gainesville, Ga. passed away March 6, 2013.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ben and Era Ash, Pierce and Zora Gilstrap.

Ford was a Southern Baptist pastor from 1996-2007. He pastored Elim Baptist in Newnan, New Day Worship Center in Dahlonega and Grace Baptist in Toccoa. He also served as interim pastor at Corinth Baptist Church.

He was the owner of Crossover Counseling, where he was a certified Clinical advance addiction counselor. He spiritually guided individuals and families with addictions to alcohol and drugs.

Ford attended Andersonville Theological Seminary where he earned a Doctorate in Christian Counseling. Ford loved and enjoyed the life that God blessed him with. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, running and skydiving.

He is survived by his loving wife, Christine (Cricket) Ash; daughter, Ashley Ash; son, Ford (Tre) Ash III; Parents, Ford Sr. and Marie Ash; sister, Sonya Ash; sister and brother-in-law, Sabrena and Scott Kapetanis; Nephew and niece, Kody and Kristin Kapetanis; Father-in-law and mother-in-law, Doug and Ruby Boger.

Funeral services are scheduled for 5:00pm Friday March 8, 2013 at Northlake Baptist Church in Murrayville, Ga.

Dr. Tony Smith will officiate.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega on Thursday March 7, 2013 from 5pm until 9pm and on Friday, March 8, 2013 from 2pm until 4pm.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
