Marell Moon Jackson

Marell Moon Jackson, age 80 of Braselton, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at Winder Healthcare following an extended illness.


Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 1:00 PM at St. Paul United Methodist Church on Summit Street with Rev. Dr. Marcus Dixon officiating. Mrs. Jackson will lie in state at the church from 12:00-1:00 PM before the funeral service. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 8, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.


Mrs. Jackson was born June 1, 1932 in Jackson County, GA to the late Paul and Blondine H. Roper Moon. She was a homemaker and was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jesse B. Jackson; her brother, James Moon and her son, Jesse James Junior Jackson.


Mrs. Jackson is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Teresa (Albert) Martin of Knoxville, TN; daughter, Mary Ellen "Donna" Jackson of Gainesville; daughter and son-in-law, Ruby D. (Roosevelt) Wallace of Gainesville; son and daughter-in-law, Joel (Janice) Jackson of Braselton; daughter, Vanessa "Karen" Jackson of South Carolina; a special grandson, Kareem (Tosha) Moore of Gainesville, a special friend, Mr. Jerry Elrod of Gainesville, a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces; brothers, Fred Roper and Joe Roper both of Atlanta and sister, Evelyn Harvell of Alabama.
