Kent L. Fredrick

Ret. Colonel U.S.A.R. Kent L. Fredrick, age 77, of Buford, GA passed away on Friday, March 8, 2013.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Mona Greene Fredrick, Buford, GA; children, Robin and Jack Shelton, Lawrenceville, GA, Matthew and Leiann Fredrick, Marietta, GA and Joseph K. Fredrick, Oakwood, GA; seven grandchildren, Emily Fredrick, Jonathan Fredrick, Christopher Fredrick, Brooke Fredrick, Joseph K. Fredrick, Gracie Shelton and Isabelle Shelton; brother and sister-in-law, Wade A. and Shirley Fredrick, Ft. Wayne, IN; one niece and one nephew. Mr. Fredrick was born December 13, 1935 in Ft. Wayne, IN. He was a 1953 graduate of Churubusco High School in Indiana and a 1958 graduate of Perdue University with a Bachelor's Degree. He was a member of Phi Kamma Delta Fraternity. He was a retired colonel from the U. S. Army after thirty-two years of service. He was owner of Fredrick Equipment Co. in Buford, GA where he was president of the company for forty years. He was a member and Deacon Emeritus of Zion Hill Baptist Church in Buford, GA. He was on the Board of Villas at Friendship Corners on Holiday Road in Buford, GA.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Hill Baptist Church in Buford, GA with Rev. Danny Newbern officiating with remains placed in state at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Buford, GA with military honors.

The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Flowers accepted or memorial donations may be made to Zion Hill Baptist Church Building Fund in memory of Kent Fredrick.
