Anthony Pellegrino

Mr. Anthony Pellegrino, age 87, of Dahlonega, GA, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2013.

Anthony moved to Dahlonega two years ago from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He was originally from New York where he retired after 25 years of service with the New York State Police.

He was a member of the First Marine Division in the Battle of Guadalcanal. He was also a member of the Actors Equity Guild and played in a number of off Broadway productions. Anthony inspired his son to form the Dahlonega Senior Softball Club. He played softball until he was 82 years of age in Myrtle Beach.

Anthony was a member of Foothills Fellowship in Lumpkin County.

He was the son of the late Michael and Lucy Furcella Pellegrino; and was also preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Camps Pellegrino; 2 sisters and 1 brother.

Anthony is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Frank and Trina Pellegrino of Dahlonega, GA, Richard and Maura Pellegrino of Middletown, NY; daughter and son-in-law, Toni Lynn and Alan Godby, Gainesville, GA; granddaughters, Stephanie and Samantha Pellegrino, Middletown, NY.

Funeral services for Anthony are scheduled for 6:00 PM Thursday, March 14, 2013 at the Foothills Fellowship, 5320 Longbranch Road, Dahlonega, GA 30533.

Rev. T.R. Myers will officiate.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega on Wednesday, March 13, from 5 PM until 8 PM and Thursday, March 14, from 3 PM until 5 PM.
