Willard Lee Pruitt

Mrs. Willard Lee Pruitt, age 85 of Cornelia, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2013, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Born in Banks County on May 15, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Williford and Ada Sanders. Mrs. Pruitt was a homemaker and devoted and active member of Level Grove Baptist Church, where she was a Children's Sunday school teacher for over 30 years, member of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class, the WMU's, and the Sunshine Band Senior Adult Group. She was an avid University of Georgia football and Atlanta Braves baseball fan and enjoyed her flowers. Mrs. Pruitt loved her church, children, grandchildren, great granddaughter, and her Alston Ridge and the Oaks Retirement Home family.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Dwayne Pruitt and sister, Mary Will Cochran.
Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law, Randy & Wanda Pruitt of Cornelia and Ricky & Kathy Pruitt of Clarkesville; grandchildren, Chelie & Jimmy Mize of Toccoa, Chris Pruitt of the Batesville Community and Ashley Pruitt of Clarkesville; great-granddaughter, Abigail Mize; brother and sister-in-law, Preston Ray & Jimmie Sanders of Homer; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services are 11:00 am Saturday, March 16, 2013, at Level Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Brian James and Rev. Terry Rice officiating. Interment will follow in Level Grove Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-8 pm Friday.
