Mrs. Minnie Buice Staton, age 94, of Suwanee, GA passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2013.
She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-seven years, Adrin Staton; parents, Sidney and Venie Hosch Buice; sisters, Marie Buice Hayes, Mae Buice Thompson and Ann Buice Sudderth; brother, Melford Buice; and sisters-in-law, Blonnie Buice and JoAnn Buice; and brother-in-law, Jesse Hayes. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Carol Staton Martin and husband, Victor Martin, Suwanee, GA; grandchildren, Zachary and Amanda Martin, Athens, GA and Katie and Jason Pollard, Flowery Branch, GA; great grandson, Miles Pollard; brother, Maron S. Buice, Sugar Hill, GA; brothers-in-law, Truman Thompson, Buford, GA and Glad Sudderth, Buford, GA; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mrs. Staton was born December 6, 1918 in Buford, GA. She was a 1934 graduate of Sugar Hill School. She was owner of Minnie Staton Interiors in Sugar Hill. She worked for V. V. Vick Jewelers in Columbus, GA, Kernaghans Jewelers and Carl Hays Jewelers in Macon, GA and Tara Fine Jewelry in Buford, GA. She was a member of Shadowbrook Baptist Church in Suwanee, GA. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister and will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 22, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Nathan Ridgeway officiating. Eulogy will be given by the grandchildren, Zachary Martin and Katie Pollard. Interment and graveside service will follow at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens in Buford, GA with Rev. Rick Patchin officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
