Joyce Sexton, 72, of Dawsonville passed away Monday April 1, 2013 at her residence following an extended illness.

Born October 4, 1940 in Atlanta, GA to the late Monroe and Edna Perry, she had been living in Dawson County for the past 16 years having moved from Enterprise, AL. Mrs. Sexton earned a Masters Degree in Psychology and served as Director of Wargrass Mental Health Clinic in Dothan, AL for many years. Joyce was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and was accomplished at needle work.

Surviving are her husband, William O. Sexton, Jr., Dawsonville; children, Cheryl Sexton Eisner and husband, Ian, Alpharetta, GA, Steve Sexton and wife Sharon, Escondido, CA, William M. Sexton and husband, Thomas Mears, Johns Creek, GA.; Sisters, Jean Rice, Locus Grove, Faye Perry, Albuquerque, NM; brother, Aaron Perry, Snellville; grandchildren, Genevieve and Chris Feller, Lake in the Hills, IL, Jared and Katie Eisner, Lawrenceville; great granddaughter, Madeline Feller.

Funeral services will be held Thursday April 4, 2013 at 11 o'clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Sven Mossinger and Chaplin Steve Sexton will officiate. Interment will follow in Dawsonville Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2 until 9 at the funeral home.
