Fred Tillerson

Obituary Date: Saturday, April 6, 2013
Mr. Fred Tillerson went to join his wife Betty in the heavenly presence of their Lord this past Thursday, April 4, 2013, from his home in Gainesville, and in the earthly presence of family.

Born to Clomia Tillerson on May 26th, 1935, Fred was subsequently raised by Robert and Alice Moreland in Ranger, Georgia. Fred lived a life renowned for his love of family as well as a never-ending desire to help others. A faithful and active member of Free Chapel in Gainesville, Fred and his wife Betty were known to all as loving, caring, and dedicated disciples of Christ, and stories abound of their generosity and giving spirit. A graduate of Fairmont High School and a retiree of Northwest Airlines, Fred maintained a garden at his home in Gainesville that became a way of life highlighted by happiness, sharing, and a coming together of loving people from all walks of life.

Fred was predeceased by his wife Betty.

He is survived by their son Lamar and his wife Martha of Marietta, daughter Tina Montrois and her husband David of Gainesville, and son Steve and his wife Kathy of Smyrna.

An endless joy to Fred and Betty were their grandchildren Matthew, Jessica, Zachary, and Jeffrey Tillerson, and Christina, Rachel, and Megan Montrois. Brother Dub Moreland predeceased Fred, as did sisters Odessa Black, Jean Chadwick, Bobby Collis, Rae Timinski, and Pat Kirby. Also much loved by Fred was his Goddaughter Sherry and her husband Mike Wilson of Cumming, and their children Morgan and Andrew.

Visitation will be Sunday, April 7th, from 3
