Clifton Jones Martin

Clifton Jones Martin, age 90 of Gainesville, passed away April 6, 2013 at the Oaks of Limestone following an extended illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, April 8, 2013 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with Reverend Nathan Martin and Reverend Dennis Roper officiating. Interment will follow in Mayfield Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 7, 2013 from 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Mr. Martin was born July 16, 1922 in Forsyth County, Georgia to the late Henry Virgil Martin, Sr. and Roxie Jones Martin. He was retired from Miliken in New Holland and was a Deacon at Mayfield Baptist Church, where he was a life-long member. Mr. Martin is preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Lucille Emmett and Bernice Mooney.

Mr. Martin is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ila Martin of Gainesville; daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Troyce Martin of Gainesville; son and daughter-in-law, Cecil and Debbie Martin of Gainesville; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Harvey Black of Gainesville; grandson, James Pruitt of Gainesville; granddaughter, Sirena Pruitt of Gainesville; granddaughter and husband, Christy and Ben Camp of Gainesville and a great-grandson, Ryder Camp; brother, H.V. Martin, Jr. of Gainesville; brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Mary Nell Martin of Gainesville; sister and brother-in-law, Eula and W.H. Byers of Gainesville.

The family of Mr. Martin would like express gratitude to the staff of the Oaks at Limestone for the service and love that was given during Mr. Martin's stay.
