Blanche Truelove Bowen

Blanche Truelove Bowen, age 96, of Cornelia, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.



Mrs. Bowen was born on February 6, 1917, in White County, Georgia, to the late Clyde Wiley and Gertrude Rogers Truelove. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, L.G. Bowen, Jr.; daughter, Valeria Bowen Partain; and brother, Denver V. Truelove. Mrs. Bowen graduated from Piedmont College with a Bachelor's Degree in Home Economics. She also received her Associate's Degree from Rabun Gap Nacoochee Junior College. Mrs. Bowen was a member of First Baptist Church of Cornelia where she was a member of Joy Sunday School Class and Helping Hands. She began the Language Ministry (ESL), and taught Sunday School and Bible School for a number of years. Mrs. Bowen was a homemaker.



Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Denver G. and Pamela A. Bowen, Demorest, GA; grandchildren, Linka Burnette, Teresa Moffett, and Michael Greber; and nine great-grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.



Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2013, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia, with Dr. T. Logan Smith and Dr. Eric Spivey officiating. Interment will follow in Level Grove Cemetery.



The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, April 19, 2013, at the funeral home.
