Leonard Edward Brand

Obituary Date: Tuesday, May 7, 2013
Alexander Funeral Home of Cleveland, announces the death of Mr.Leonard Edward Brand, age 70 of Cleveland. Mr. Brand passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2013.

Funeral services are sceduled for 2:00pm, Saturday, May 11, 2013 from the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Testnatee Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors being performed by the White County Color Guard.

Leonard was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on July 28, 1942 to the late Fred C. Brand and Mary Ryall Brand. He lived most of his life in Chattanooga and served with honor in the United States Army. Following his military service Leonard drove private charter buses for some of the more famous country music stars of the time including Tammy Wynette. Later, Leonard was employed as a marketing representative with the Nolan Company where he specialized in water well systems. In 1991 Leonard moved to Cleveland, where he was employed with APEX Supply and later BOWA Trails and Wholesale Supply before finally retiring due to failing health. Leonard was strong in his faith and carried that belief in those around him as well. He was an active member of the Cleveland United Methodist Church, where he sang in the church choir, participated in Sunday School and was a member of the "ROMEO" Club. Leonard not only answered the call of service to God, his family and his church, he also answered the call of service to his country and was an active member of the American Legion.

In addition to his parents, Leonard is preceded in death by his brother in law John Webb and his father and mother in law, Marvin and Ruth Miles.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Marviene Brand of Cleveland; brothers and sisters in law, Fred (Freddie) and Carol Brand and Terrell and Judy Brand, all of Murfreesboro, TN.

Viewing will be held on Friday from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm
