Thomas Buford Adams

Alexander Funeral Home of Cleveland announces the death of Mr. Thomas Buford Adams, age 90 of Cleveland. Mr. Adams passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2013. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm, Saturday, June 1, 2013 from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Dave Fortner, Rev. George Fortner and Rev. Michael Clark officiating . Interment will follow in Union Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Adams was born in White County on February 20, 1923 to the late Jasper Herbert Adams and Odie York Adams. He served with honor in the United States Army in the Philippines during World War II and later retired from Mount Vernon Mills in Cleveland .

Mr. Adams attended Testnatee Baptist Church and in addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Catherine Gurley, Louvine Fain, Birdie Vandiver, Pauline Sims , brothers, Arnold Adams, Verner Adams, Paul Adams, Coleman Adams and Norman Adams , daughter in law , Diane Adams and granddaughter, Sasha LaKeye Loggins

Survivors include his wife of 55 years Inell Roper Adams, of Cleveland; son, Dexter Adams, Hiawassee; daughters and sons in law Gloria and Dale Loggins, Cleveland; Ingrid and Tracy Jenkins of Young Harris; sister, Beulah Thompson, Lawrenceville and grandchildren, Kadie Mariah Jenkins, Kenzie Morgan Jenkins, Brittany LaShea Loggins, Dustin Anthony and Brittany Loggins, Shantae LaTrice and Kris Lewis, Kielea LaKendra Loggins, Chyanne Kyndle Adams, and great granddaughter, Ginger Mariah Lewis as well as a host of nieces, nephews and additional relatives.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, May 31, 2013 from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm
