Jay William (Bill) Simpson

Mr. Jay William (Bill) Simpson, age 73, of Cumming, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2013. Bill was an avid golfer and loved boating, piloting airplanes, recreational vehicles and wood working. A U.S. Navy veteran, he retired from I.B.M, after 30 years of service and was a local businessman. Bill is preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Mike Sample and his parents, Don Carlos and Rosa Mae Simpson.



Survivors include his wife, Teri Simpson of Cumming; adopted mother, Edith Mae Simpson of Clinton, TN; sons and daughters-in-law, William and Mari Simpson of Bristow, VA, Samuel Simpson of Nashville, TN and Shawn and Magdalena Simpson of Dunwoody, GA; grandchildren, Melissa and Matthew Simpson of Bristow, VA; brothers and sisters, Von and Margaret Simpson of Chattanooga, Donna Broach of Florence, SC, Patsy Yarber of Clinton, TN, Dwight and Donna Simpson of Sevierville, TN, John and Marilu Simpson of Clinton, TN, Joyce Simpson of Athens, TN, Don Carlos, Jr. and Diane Simpson of Chester, SC, James and Rikki Simpson of Taylorsville, GA, Charles and Lynn Simpson of New York City and Alberta and Rick Terwillger of Flower Mount, TX; devoted friends, Arvis Gilbert and Linda Noesner and his beloved dog, Dooley.



Graveside services, with military honors, will be held Friday, June 14, at 12:30 p.m. at Georgia National Cemetery with the Rev. Don Simpson officiating.



The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home Thursday, June 13, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
