Betty Lou Sims Batusic

Obituary Date: Friday, June 14, 2013

Betty Lou Sims Batusic, 87, of Chestnut Mountain, Georgia, died on Friday, June 14, at home, after a short illness. Born in Carbondale, West Virginia, to the late John and Ruby Sims, Mrs. Batusic was preceded in death by her son, Richard Alvin Batusic II.



A Memorial Service for Mrs. Batusic will be held at Chestnut Mountain Presbyterian Church on Monday, June 17, at 11:00 AM. Pastors John Batusic, Kennedy Smartt and Ben Phillips will officiate. The family will receive friends following the memorial service in the church sanctuary.



A graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School in Charleston, West Virginia, and retired from the West Virginia State Auditor's Office, she lived most of her life in West Virginia before moving to Georgia in 1999. She was a member of Chestnut Mountain Presbyterian Church.



She is survived by her husband of 66½ years, Richard; her daughter and son-in-law, Jon and Charlene Casperson, of Chestnut Mountain; son and daughter-in-law John S. and Becky Batusic, Chestnut Mountain; sisters Wanda Mae McClung, Luling, Louisiana, and Martha Jane Penhale, Charleston; grandsons John W. Batusic, Chestnut Mountain; David Batusic, Sugar Hill; and Daniel McGrail, Atlanta; and great-grandchildren, Andrew, Jacob and Allie Batusic, Chestnut Mountain; and a number of nieces and nephews.



In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Chestnut Mountain Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, PO Box 7280, Chestnut Mountain, Georgia 30502.
