Charles Boyd Church

Charles Boyd Church, age 72, of Demorest, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2013, following a courageous battle with cancer.



Born on June 8, 1941, in Gastonia, North Carolina; he was the son of the late Henry Grady Church and Eula Elrod Church, both formerly of Habersham Mills, Georgia. He was also preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gartrell and Ruby Roberts of Clarkesville. Mr. Church was a retired machinist and farmer. He was a member of Level Grove Baptist Church and a mason.



Mr. Church is survived by his wife, Carolyn Roberts Church of Demorest; son, Ricky Church and wife, Veronica of Sylva, NC; daughters, Stacey Church Glaze and husband, Larry of Lake Wiley, SC and Kelly Church Huffman and husband, Anthony of Dallas, NC; sister, Betty Church Byrum and husband, Query of Fort Mill, SC; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; nieces and nephews; as well as brother-in-law, Phillip Roberts and wife, Janice of Demorest and sister-in-law, Annette Roberts Fricks and husband, Tommy of Mt. Airy.



Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 14, 2013, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia, with the Rev. Brian James and Michael Sherrill officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens.



The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2013, at the funeral home.
