Lester George Thompson

Mr. Lester George Thompson age 74 of Gainesville passed away on Friday July 19, 2013 at Emory Hospital following an extended illness.

Funeral service are scheduled for Monday July 22, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Stan Peck and Reverend C.A. Register will officiate. The family will receive friends on Sunday July 21, 2013 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Thompson was born on May 11, 1939 in Belleville, Michigan to the late E.J. Thompson and Odeilia Ingenthorn Thompson. He was retired from Ford Motor Company, and was a member of Sardis Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Nadine Thompson of Gainesville, daughter and son-in-law, Shawn Marie and Terry Baines of Gainesville, son, Brandon Thompson of Gainesville, grand-children, Amanda Marie Wehunt and Brandon Andrew Wehunt, sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Raymond McDaniel of Morehead, Kentucky, brother and sister-in-law, Roland and Greta Thompson of Sevierville, Tennessee, brother and sister-in-law, Howard and Josephine Thompson of Michigan.
