Dr. Robert S. Tether, 84 of Greenville, South Carolina formerly of Gainesville, GA died Wednesday July 24, 2013.
Born in Englewood, New Jersey, Dr. Tether was the son of the late Russell Knapp and Hazel Sloat Tether. A graduate of Oregon Medical School, Dr. Tether was a physician in the Gainesville area for over 25 years. He was also one of the Founding Fathers of Lakeview Academy in Gainesville. Dr. Tether attended Grace Episcopal Church.
Dr. Tether is preceded in death by his wife; Mary Lou Tether.
Survivors include his son, Russell Tether, Dallas, TX; daughter and son-in-law; Sheri and Gary Pouch, Greenville, SC; granddaughters, Emma Lyne Pouch and Madison Pouch, both of Greenville, SC.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m.
Tuesday July 30, 2013 at the Alta Vista Cemetery. Rev. Philip McQueen will officiate.
