Lucille (Lucy) Campbell Eberhardt

Mrs. Lucille (Lucy) Campbell Eberhardt, 86, widow of David Wills Eberhardt, Sr., died Tuesday July 30, 2013, at her home in Gainesville.



Born on September 9, 1926, in Asheville, North Carolina, Mrs. Eberhardt had lived in Gainesville for most of her adult life. She was the daughter of the late George Whitfield Campbell and Vista McFall Campbell. Mrs. Eberhardt was retired from Harris Calorific and was a member of the St. Paul United Methodist Church on Washington Street. She loved going to campmeeting at the Lebanon Campground in Gillsville, was very active in many church activities at St. Paul and loved Braves baseball.



She was adored by her many family members and friends and will always be remembered for what the kids would say "That beautiful Lucy smile".



Survivors include her children, David Wills Eberhardt, Jr., and Laura Gail Eberhardt, her sisters Sylvia Lester, of Gainesville, GA, Anna Cates of Milton, FL, and Lora Etta Cockerill of Sumter, SC, numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews, many for whom she was an honorary grandmother.



She is preceded in death by her brothers, George Whitfield Campbell, Jr.,and Oliver Richard Campbell.



Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 3, 2013 at St. Paul United Methodist Church on Washington Street. The Rev. Calvin Haney will officiate. Interment will be held at a later date in the Alta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until the funeral hour.
