J.B. 'Jake' Lingerfelt

J.B. "Jake" Lingerfelt, age 75, of Dahlonega, GA passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2013 after a brief illness.

Jake was a lifelong resident of Lumpkin County, and had retired from Fieldale Farms. He was a loving father, brother, and wonderful friend to everyone and loved to give to others. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Lumpkin County.

Mr. Lingerfelt was the son of the late Cicero and Madge Mincey Lingerfelt, and was also preceded in death by his wife, Lizzie Lingerfelt; brothers, Ben, Hube, Gene, Ronald, and M.C. Lingerfelt; and sisters, Edna Tate, Bonnie Gardiner, and Doris Dillon.

Jake is survived by his son, Jeffrey Lingerfelt; brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Juhline Lingerfelt; sister, Lois Arthur, all of Dahlonega; and sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and David Mize of Dacula, GA. The family would also like to extend a special thank you to caregiver, Joyce Anderson.

Funeral services for Jake are scheduled for 3 PM Saturday, August 24, 2013 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega.

Rev. Lyman Caldwell and Kris Butler will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Dahlonega Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega from 4 PM until 9 PM on Friday, August 23, and 10 AM until service time on Saturday, August 24, 2013.

Flowers will be accepted, but those desiring to do so may make a contribution to the charity of their choice in Jake's memory.
