Robert Jackson Garner

Robert Jackson Garner, age 78 of Dawsonville, passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at New Horizons Limestone following an extended illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, September 20, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with Reverend Wayne Hicks officiating. Interment will follow in Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery in Dawson County. The family will receive friends Thursday, September 19, 2013 from 4:00-6:00 PM and from 7:00-9:00 PM at the funeral home.

Mr. Garner was born January 16, 1935 in Gwinnett County, Georgia to the late Frank Garner and the late Lillie Slaton Garner. He was a carpenter by trade and was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Garner is survived by his wife, Ethel Garner; daughters, Robin Hayes and Mary Shelton; sons, Wesley Garner, Daniel Garner, Robert Garner and Steven Garner; brother and sister-in-law, Minor and Kathy Garner; sister, Diane Evans; 8 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; 3 nephews, Mark Evans, James Garner and Robert Garner.
