Edward Smith

Edward Smith, age 81 of Lula, passed away Saturday, September 21, 2013 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center with his family by his bedside to celebrate with him his home going.

Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, September 26, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Homer First Baptist Church with Reverend Fred Wilson officiating. Interment will in the church cemetery. The wake will be held on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 from 6:00-8:00pm at the Homer First Baptist Church.

Mr. Smith was born November 22, 1931 in Maysville, Georgia to the late Cohn Smith and the late Ora Dee Rome Smith. He was retired from Farmer Lumber Company. Mr. Smith was a member and a Deacon at Homer First Baptist Church.

Mr. Smith is survived by his wife of 51 years, Hilma Ramsey Smith of Lula; daughter, Patricia Richie of Gainesville; daughter, Jeanette Smith of Lula; sons, Johnny Ramsey of Monroe and Willie Smith of Lula; son and daughter-in-law, Joey and Kimberly Smith of Homer; sons, Spencer Smith of Lula and Phillip Smith of Lula; son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Adrienne Smith of Lula; 20 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Memorial Park Funeral Home, 2030 Memorial Park Road, Gainesville, GA 30504 is in charge of arrangements.
