Gaynelle Fitzgerald Collins

Mrs. Gaynelle Fitzgerald Collins, age 78 of 1055 Old Carnes Creek Road, Toccoa, Georgia passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at Oaks at Scenic View, Baldwin, Georgia.

A daughter of the late Alexander H. and Minnie Sloan Fitzgerald, she was born December 2, 1934 in Walhalla, South Carolina having lived most of her life in Toccoa. She was retired from Milliken and Company with a number of years of service and was a member of Carnes Creek Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Collins in 2001, son-in-law, Dan Bowers and great-grandson, Isaiah Allen Sosby.

Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Collins of Toccoa, Georgia and Ann Bowers of Hartwell, Georgia; son and daughter-in-law, Wendell and Phyllis Collins of Eastanollee, Georgia; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Roy Fitzgerald of Eastanollee, Georgia and Dillard Fitzgerald of Gainesville, Georgia; two sisters, Barbara Jean Holland of Toccoa, Georgia and Lois Kastner of Cleveland, Georgia.

Funeral services will be Friday, October 4, 4 O'clock PM at Carnes Creek Baptist Church with the Reverend Wayne Marcus and the Reverend Dr. Earl Fowlkes officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Jeff Bowen, Peter Traudt, Blake Bowers, Dillon Bowers, Allen Sosby and Shannon Sosby.

The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Thursday from 7 PM to 9 PM.

Interment will follow in Carnes Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with the Reverend Don Scott and the Reverend Dr. Earl Fowlkes officiating. Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of arrangements for Mrs. Gaynelle Fitzgerald Collins.
