H.L. Brantley, III

Mr. H.L. Brantley, III, age 69, of 613 Carolina Drive, Toccoa, Georgia, passed away Saturday, October 05, 2013 at The Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, Georgia.

The son of the late Horace Leland Brantley, Jr. and Helen Rucker Brantley, he was born October 4, 1944 in Nashville, Tennessee, having lived for most of his life in Charlotte, North Carolina and for the past thirteen years in Toccoa. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served in the Vietnam War, and he received his BS Degree at the University of North Carolina in Charlotte. He was the executive director of the Northeast Georgia Housing Authority, member of the First Presbyterian Church of Toccoa and member of the church choir. He was also a member of the Toccoa Rotary Club.

He is survived by his wife, Bette Masters Brantley of the home, two sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Jenny Brantley of Charlotte, N.C. and Brad and Suzanne Brantley of Washington, N.C., four grandchildren, Mary Katherine, Graham, Allison, and Clay, and a sister, Beverly Jeanne Brantley of Roanoke, Virginia.

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2013, 2:00 PM, at the First Presbyterian Church of Toccoa with The Reverend David Keister officiating.

The family will be at the home on Carolina Drive, Toccoa, and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home from 6 until 8 p.m. on Monday evening.

The family respectfully requests that flowers be omitted and that memorials by made to the First Presbyterian Church General Fund, 205 East Tugalo Street, Toccoa, Ga. 30577 or to Hospice of N.E. Georgia, 2150 Limestone Parkway, Suite 222, Gainesville, Ga. 30501, in memory of Mr. H.L. Brantley, III.
