Garrett Joseph Byrnes

Garrett Joseph Byrnes, age 63, of Buford, GA, died Saturday, October 12, 2013 after a long battle with Neuroendocrine Carcinoid Cancer.

Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Flowery Branch. Father Eric Hill will officiate.

The family will receive friends on Monday, October, 14, 2013 from 6:30-8:30 PM at the funeral home.

Mr. Byrnes was preceded in death by his parents, John E. Byrnes, Jr. and Evelyn O'Conner Byrnes. Brother, John E. Byrnes. Sister, Margaret M. Brady.

He is survived by his wife, Gail Byrnes, Buford, GA. Daughters and Sons In-Law, Heather and Kevin Cote, Buford, GA, Terri and Ryan Aasen, Buford, GA. Son and Daughter In-Law, Michael and Maria Jones, Cold Spring, NY. Grandchildren, Luke, Jake, Emily, Sarah, Garrett, Ava, and Evelyn-Merritt. Brothers and Sisters In-Law, Gerald "Gerry" and Joan Byrnes, Cape May, NJ, Charles E. and Marie Byrnes, Charlemont, MA, Lawrence T. and Kathleen Byrnes, Sommerset, NJ, Walter V. and Alice Byrnes, The Villages, FL, Robert "Bob" and Rosemary Byrnes, Croton-on-Hudson, NY. Brother, Paul J. Byrnes, The Villages, FL. Sister and Brother In-Law, Evelyn "Evie" Byrnes and Kurt Mast, Atlanta, GA and Highlands, NC. Sister, Sister Ellen M. Byrnes, Lincoln Park, NJ. Many Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.

Mr. Byrnes was a native of Garrison, NY and had lived in the Atlanta area for the past 20 years. He was a quality control engineer for IBM and was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church. He was an avid NY Giant and NY Yankees fan.

He was loved by everyone and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
