Phillip "Phil" Bursi

Phillip "Phil" Bursi, age 59, of Buford, GA passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2013. He is survived by his wife of thirty-eight years, Ruth McMullen Bursi, Buford, GA; children, John Bursi, Jackson, MS, Maj. Chuck Bursi and wife, Meghan Bursi, Anchorage, AK, Lt. Alex Bursi, San Diego, CA and Tommy and Alexia Bursi, Lawrenceville, GA; four grandchildren, Jack Bursi, Ella Bursi, Adam Bursi and Harrison Bursi; sisters and brother-in-law, Toni Born, Blue Ridge, GA and Marcella and Harry Henderson, Savannah, GA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dan and Bea Bursi, Baltimore, MD and Hugh and Barbara Bursi, Dallas, TX; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Bursi was born October 20, 1953 in Memphis, TN. He was a 1971 graduate of Decatur High School in Decatur, GA and attended Georgia State University in Atlanta, GA. He was employed with Software Engineering of America as an Information Technologist. He was an avid tennis player and was an oil painter. He was a member of East Lanier Community Church in Buford, GA. Funeral service will be held on Monday, October 21, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at East Lanier Community Church, 4907 Golden Parkway, Buford, GA 30519 with Rev. Charles Goodwin officiating. Interment will follow at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens in Buford. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Pregnancy Resource Center of Gwinnett, 337 West Pike Street, Lawrenceville, GA 30046 in memory of Phillip "Phil" Bursi of which he was a long time supporter.
