for Loyd H. Smith , 63 , of Gainesville. Burial will follow in Alta Vista cemetery .



The family will receive friends Thursday evening 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Wards Funeral Home.



Mr. Smith was born November 21, 1950 in Bibb County, Georgia and is the son of Loyd and Mary Durden Smith . He has lived most of his life in Hall County. Mr. Smith was a Master Plumber and



Pipe Fitter and retired from General Motors Corp . He was a member of Clermont Masonic Lodge #512 F. & A. M. and U. A.W. Local # 10. Mr Smith was preceded in death by a sister Emily Reidling . Survivors are Wife Velma Dunn Smith of Gainesville, Son Richard Lamar Smith of Gainesville , Daughter & Son-in-law Valerie Renee S. & John Hughes of Gainesville, Grandchildren Clinton Smith , Sydney Hughes, Jacob Smith, Hayden Hughes and Breigh Anne Smith all of Gainesville.
