James Price Collier

Obituary Date: Monday, November 18, 2013



Mr. James Price Collier, age 91, of Eastanollee, died Monday, November 18, 2013, peacefully at home with his family.



Born August 19, 1922 in Toccoa, he was a son of the late James Julius and Margie Lankford Collier. He was the last member of a family of seven children.



Mr. Collier was retired from Patterson & Company after 30 years, retired from Stephens County EMS with 11 years of service and after 18 years, he was the first to retire as an EMT from EMS. He was a U. S. Army World War II Veteran having served in the 456th Anti-Aircraft Division, the 3rd Wave at Normandy Beach, and in the European Theater. Mr. Collier was a member of Eastanollee Baptist Church, a volunteer Fireman with the Eastanollee Fire Department for 25 years and in his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and gardening.



Survivors include his wife, Jewell Turner Collier; three daughters and sons-in-law, Sherry and Dan Westbrook, Toccoa, Karen and Eddie Seay of Hartwell and Donna Wood of Oregon; grandchildren, Susan and Kene Whitaker, Laura and Brandon Moore, DJ and Darcy Parson, Vanessa and Alan Warren, Justin Sokan, Jonathan Seay and Sarah Seay.



Funeral services will be held at two o'clock Wednesday from Eastanollee Baptist Church with the Rev. Ricky McFarlin and Rev. John Thomas officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors.



Members of the Volunteer Fire Department and the Fellowship Sunday School Class will serve as Honorary Escort. Stephens County EMS will serve as pallbearers.
