Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. Joe Neal Kinney, age 89, of Talmo, Georgia, passed away at his home surrounded by his Family and Caregivers on Monday, November 18, 2013.

Mr. Kinney was born in Talmo, Georgia, the son of the late J.H. Kinney and Essie Bridges Kinney, was a member of Talmo Baptist Church where he served as Chairman of the Deacon Board, sang in the Choir, taught Sunday School, visited and cooked for the sick for many years, and retired from Dutch Quality House. Mr. Kinney served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Pacific Theatre. In addition to his parents, Mr. Kinney is preceded by his wife Sarah McEver Kinney, step-mother, Frances Hill Kinney, Sister, Annie Lou Kinney, and brothers, John, Bill, Harry and Harold Kinney.

Survivors include two daughters and son in laws, Donna and Melvin Porter of Jefferson, Susie and Phil Boleman of Chestnut Mountain. Grandchildren, Hutch (Allison) Porter, Allison (Justin) Seibert, Tiffany (Anthony) Richey, Liza Boleman, Susannah (Kyle) Odom and Sydney Boleman. Great grandchildren, Tate and Jack Seibert.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M., Thursday, November 21, 2013 at Talmo Baptist Church with Reverend Mark Spence officiating with burial to follow in the Talmo Baptist Church Cemetery. Gentlemen honored at pallbearers are Steve Kinney, Mike McEver, Nelson Sellers, Richie Elliott, Ricky Elliott, and Bud Kinney. The family will receive friends 5-8 Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at the Funeral Home.
