Ralph Lee Gilbert

Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday November 29, 2013 at Bethel Tabernacle Church in Dahlonega for Ralph Lee Gilbert age 67 of Lula. The Rev. Ricky Stone and Rev. Jason Daniels will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Gilbert passed away Tuesday November 26, 2013.



Ralph was born December 12, 1945 to the late Weldon R. (Sonny) and Fannie Mae Gilbert of Gainesville. Ralph was a retired machinist of 30+ years. A gear head who loved old cars and trucks he spent many a day in his workshop fine-tuning all manner of engine components from cams to carburetors, all while listening to his beloved golden oldies on the shop radio. He stayed busy and was a dedicated and hard worker who could always be counted on. He loved old movies and talking about sports, mostly the Braves and dirt track racing. He always loved it when his boys and grand kids stopped by the shop to hangout. He was a loving husband to Shirley for 47 wonderful and devoted years. A lifelong Baptist he was a member of Bethel Tabernacle in Dahlonega.



Survivors include Wife, Shirley Ann Gilbert, Lula, Sons and Daughters-in-Law, Chris and Amy Gilbert, Lula, Steve and Denise Gilbert, Shannon and Andrea Gilbert, Lula, Son, Keith Gilbert, Lula, Brother, Lawrence Gilbert, Gainesville, Beloved grandchildren Tyler and Sara Beth Gilbert, Cody Lowe and Walker Gilbert, Hunter and Conner Gilbert and great-grandson Avery Lowe.



He was dearly loved and will be missed.
