Ned Anthony Stranahan peacefully passed away on November 26, 2013. He was born in Erie, Pennsylvania on September 22, 1918. He is survived by his daughters and son-in-law, Patricia and William Murray and Judy Schreiman, grandchildren Tim and Ann Carol Murray, Katie & Eliot Jones, Dan Schreiman and Donny Schreiman, and four great grandchildren, along with many close relatives in both Pennsylvania and in Georgia. He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Farron and Irene Stranahan, wife, Rebecca Motlow Stranahan, sister, Mary Stranahan, and son-in-law Carey Schreiman.
Ned spent many summers as a young man in Pennsylvania, and the memories of the time spent in Pennsylvania remained close to his heart throughout his life. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed the camaraderie of his many good golfing buddies during the days he lived in Dunwoody. During the course of his life he and his family moved many times and he leaves behind friends throughout multiple states.
A special thank you to the staff at Dogwood Forest and the staff at Halcoyn Hospice for the care given during his stay at Dogwood Forest. Memorial contributions can be sent to Halcoyn Hospice, 1435 Haw Creek Circle East, Suite 402, Cumming, GA 30041.
