Harold Hilliard Lay

Harold Hilliard Lay, age 88, of Gainesville, passed away Monday, December 16, 2013 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.

Mr. Lay was born July 20, 1925 in Gainesville, Georgia to the late George D. and Lillie Mae Pruitt Lay. He was retired from Gainesville Mill and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Lay was preceded in death by his wife, Nell Lay, a brother, Charles Lay and son, Curtis Myers.

Survivors include, his sisters, Elizabeth Couch & Mary Dickenson both of Gainesville, brothers & sisters-in-law, George & Laverne Lay of Thomaston, Georgia, Lawrence & Jerri Lay of Gainesville, grandsons, Chris Lovell, Cory Myers, & Tiana Teague, great-grandchildren, Harrison Lovell, Aurora Teague, Maia Teague, Mark Teague, Ian Teague & Mark Myers.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at 12:00 noon in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with Rev. Junior Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 17, 2013 from 5-9 Tuesday at the funeral home.
