Robert Anthony Newsom

Robert Anthony Newsom, age 67, of Duluth, GA passed away on Monday, December 23, 2013 at Peachtree Christian Hospice.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Michele Frances Sewell Newsom.

He is survived by his two adopted children, both age 17, Emily and Andrew Newsom of Duluth, GA; brothers, John D. Newsom, McDonough, GA and Parks Candler (P.C.) and Margaret Newsom, Milledgeville, GA; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Peggy Romano, Lawrenceville, GA, Rhonda and Alan Lambert, Cumming, GA, Martha and Al Phillips, Kennesaw, GA; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Robert was born July 20, 1946 in Atlanta, GA. He was retired from Georgia Tech after thirty-seven years of service. Robert, with his late wife, Mickie were members of the Founding Board of St. Monica Catholic Church in Duluth, GA where he was also a founding member.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Monica Catholic Church in Duluth, GA on Friday, December 27th at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, December 26th from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:30.

In lieu of flowers, a fund has been established for the children at Wells Fargo Bank, 2731 Meadow Church Road, Duluth, GA 30097 with reference to Emily and Andrew Newsom.
