Dan Terrell Pressley, Sr

Mr. Dan Terrell Pressley, Sr., age 76 of 99 Vanmar Drive, Toccoa, Georgia passed away Monday, December 30, 2013 at his residence.

A son of the late James Butler and Ollie Mae Brown Pressley, he was born December 6, 1937 in Stephens County, Georgia where he lived a greater part of his life. He received his Juris Doctorate from the John Marshall Law School. He practiced law in Stephens County for some 40 years, the current State Court Solicitor of Stephens County, a member of the Toccoa First Baptist Church, the Agoga Bible Class and the Brotherhood of the church. He was President of the Stephens County Democratic Party and was a Scout Master.

Survivors include his wife of the home, Jayne Brock Pressley; two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Maria Pressley of Fayetteville, North Carolina and Dan T. Pressley, Jr. and Tracey of Toccoa, Georgia; daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Joey Godbee of Statesboro, Georgia; six grandchildren, Amy and Grayson Tillman, Michael Pressley, Jr., Stephen Pressley, Wyatt Godbee, Zachary Godbee and Emma Jayne Godbee; sisters and brother-in-law, Mable Stancil and Mildred and Howard L. Simmons both of Toccoa, Georgia; sister-in-law, Gail Brown of Toccoa, Georgia; brother-in-law, Romeo Brock of Locust Grove, Georgia.

Funeral services will be Thursday, January 2, 2 O'clock PM at the Toccoa First Baptist Church with the Reverend David Ritcey and the Reverend Harris Pressley officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Michael Pressley, Jr., Stephen Pressley, Wyatt Godbee, Zachary Godbee, Grayson Tillman, James Simmons, Harris Pressley and Brian Pressley.

The family will be at the home on Vanmar Drive and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2 PM to 4 PM and 6 PM to 8 PM.
