Steven Ray Fattig Sr.

Steven Ray Fattig Sr., age 60, of Gillsville, Georgia passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2014.




Mr. Fattig was born on July 16, 1953 in Ohio; son of Dorothy Price, of Ohio and the late Raymond Fattig. He is also preceded in death by his son, Steven Ray Fattig Jr., and step-son, Raymond Standridge. Mr. Fattig was a United States Navy Veteran and truck driver.




In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife of 7 years, Carolyn Standridge Fattig, Gillsville; daughters, Tonya Fattig, Watkinsville, Tara Weeks, Watkinsville, son, Chris Fattig, Athens; step-sons, Scott Standridge, Gillsville, Chad Standridge, Gillsville; sister, Crystal Chase, Chicago, IL; brother, Michael Fattig, OH; fourteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild; several nieces and nephew and a special friend, Jerry Painbore, OH.




Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at Silver Shoals Baptist Church with Rev. Perry Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with full military honors provided by the United States Navy Honor Guard, Grant Reeves VFW Post #7720, Habersham County American Legion Post #84, and Rabun County DAV Chapter #15.




The family will receive friends after 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at his residence 258 Hickory Flat Road, Gillsville, Georgia 30543
