Bernice Trammel

Bernice Trammel, age 82, of Ellijay, passed away Friday, January 10, 2014. Bernice was loved by her family and enjoyed life in her later years. She loved being in the kitchen, cooking and "force-feeding" family and visitors. With a gracious heart, if Bernice were able to, she would cook Sunday dinner every week. She and Horace were always compassionate about helping others, especially at Christmastime. Bernice is preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Willie Tolbert.



Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Horace Trammel of Ellijay; children, Joan and John Tinsley of Ellijay, Tommy Trammel of Ellijay; grandchildren, Tiffany Marie, Dewey Claude ("D.C.") and Zachary Thomas; 3 great grandchildren; sister, Billie Doris Chambers of Lawrenceville; several nieces, nephews, loved ones and friends.



Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 12, 2014 at 3 p.m. at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church with Rev. Lyman Caldwell, Rev. Jason Hamby, Rev. James Samples and Rev. Steve Shadwick officiating. The family will go in procession to the Church from the funeral home where Mrs. Trammel will lay in state at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Saturday from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m., Sunday from 10 a.m. until the hour of the service.
