Mr. Jerry Butler Moon, Sr., age 65, of Gainesville passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at Willowwood Nursing Center, following an extended illness.

Memorial Services will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Springfield Missionary Baptist Church, Hammet and 8th Street, Lula, Georgia, 30554, 770-869-3522. Rev. Arthur Jones will officiate. Repass will follow the service.

Mr. Moon was born March 2, 1948 to the late John C. Moon & Lottie Mae Buffington in Lula. He was a member of Springfield Missionary Baptist Church and retired from Fieldale, where he had been a Machine Operator. Mr. Moon was also preceded in death by his wife, Carrie Jean Moon.

Survivors include: sons, Jerry Moon, Jr. and Jason Moon, both of Gainesville; daughter & son-in-law, Renita & Brian Lollie of Savannah; 5 grandchildren; sisters, Mary Ann Glenn, Margaret Buffington and Margie Nell Moon, all of Lula; and several nieces & nephews.
