Carroll Jean Herington

Carroll Jean Herington, age 94, of Gainesville formerly of Stone Mountain, passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at New Horizon Limestone following an extended illness.

Private services will be held Monday, January 27, 2014 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Russ Weekley will officiate.

Mrs. Herington was born June 11, 1919 in Flint, Michigan to the late Donald S. Zimmerman and Gertrude Farwell Zimmerman. She was retired from Great Southwest and a member of Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church in Lilburn. Jean was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Marshal Foch Herington.

Mrs. Herington is survived by her sons & daughters-in-law, Donald Marshal & Hetty Herington of Lilburn and Charles H. & Betty Herington of Braselton, granddaughter & husband, Kimberly & Scott Thomas of Annandale, Virginia, grandson & wife, Marshall & Tina Herington of Duluth, and great-grandsons, Elijah Charles Thomas and Benjamin Herington.
