Rev. Garry Garrison

Rev. Garry Garrison, age 59 of Alto, passed away Thursday, January 30, 2014.

Born in Habersham County on March 6, 1954, he was a son of the late Rev. Clyde Garrison and Elizabeth "Lizzie" Rebecca Poole Garrison. Rev. Garrison was currently employed as a plant manager at Robins Manufacturing. He was an ordained minister having been pastor at Line Baptist Church, Harmony Baptist Church, and Tates Creek Baptist Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed farming, handy work, and cutting wood, but most importantly spending time with his family. Rev. Garrison was the former owner and operator of Cornelia Mill and Feed for 23 plus years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his children, Gregory Garry Garrison and Jennifer Rebecca Garrison; brothers, James Aden Garrison and Farry Dwight Garrison.
Surviving are loving wife of 44 years, Diane Smith Garrison, whom he married on July 14, 1972; daughter and son-in-law, Amanda & Joe Poole of Smyrna; son and daughter-in-law, Graham & Laurel Garrison of Lawrenceville; grandsons, Maxwell Poole, Luke Garrison, and Alexander Poole; brothers and sisters-in-law, Phil & Linda Garrison of Pigeon Forge, TN, Hugh & Fran Garrison of Cornelia, and John & Brenda Garrison of Gainesville; sister and brother-in-law, Mary Ann & Ron Ellington of Cornelia; mother-in-law, Addie Lene Segers of Baldwin; sisters-in-law, Wanda Garrison of Baldwin and Gail Garrison of Cornelia; brother-in-law, Milton Smith of Alto.
A celebration of life will be held 2:00 pm Sunday, February 2, 2014, at Level Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Brian James and Rev. Jody Garrison officiating. Interment will follow in the Old Mud Creek Baptist Church cemetery with Rev. Mark Garrison officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 & 6-8 pm on Saturday.
