Charlie T. Gower, age 82, of Buford, GA passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2014. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Gower Phillips; granddaughter, Jessica Michelle Gower; parents, Grover and Jewel Burel Gower; brother, Victor Gower; and sister, Joyce Marie Gower. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary
Nell Smith Gower, Buford; sons and daughter-in-law, Mike and Robin Gower, Buford, and David and Donnell Gower; Lula, daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Wayne Johnson, Dacula; grandchildren, Wayne and Ginger Johnson, Tommy and Savannah Gower, Tabatha Johnson, Steven and Halley Gower , Brandi Gower and Christopher Gower; great-grandchildren Rhett Johnson, Ariel Johnson, and Caden Gower; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Harold and Janice Smith; and special uncle, Journey P. Gower, Buford; special family friend, Kathy Mooney and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mr. Gower was born August 7, 1931 in Buford. He was a 1949 graduate of Sugar Hill High School and was retired from NuAir of Georgia as a maintenance supervisor with over twenty-five years of service. He was a mason and member of Buford Masonic Lodge No. 292 F.& A.M., Eastern Star Chapter 317, Taylor Chapter 48, Council No.65, and the Arnold DeTroy Commandry No.31. He was an active member and deacon of Duncan Creek Congregational Church, Buford.
Funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 16, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. James D. Dillin officiating. Interment will follow at Duncan Creek Congregational Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
