Marion Dean Jackson

Obituary Date: Thursday, February 13, 2014

Alexander Funeral Home of Cleveland announces the death of Mr. Marion Dean Jackson, age 75 of Dahlonega. Mr. Jackson passed away Thursday, February 13, 2014.

Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00pm, Sunday, February 16, 2014 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jack Enloe and Rev. Pierce Ashmore officiating. Interment will follow in Welcome Worship Center Cemetery with Rev. Rocky Hopkins officiating.

Dean was born in Hall Country on March 11, 1938 to the late William Buck Jackson and Nelle Jarrard Jackson. He had lived his entire life in Lumpkin County where he was a member of Welcome Worship Center and attended Community Chapel Church.

Dean was retired from CSX Railroad in 2000 with over 30 years service as an Engineer. In addition to his parents, Dean is preceded in death by his sisters, Martha June Jackson and Sue Allison.

Survivors include his wife, Judith Ingram Jackson of Dahlonega; daughter and son in law, Kim and Jimmy Tumlin, Cleveland; sons and daughters in law , Jon and Susie Jackson, Dahlonega, Stephen and Sallie Jackson of Gainesville, Michael and Cindy Jackson of Cape Giradeau, MO.; sister, Carolyn Moose of Dahlonega; sister and brother in law, Mary and Aubrey Westmorland of Sautee as well as 17 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren

Flowers will be acknowledged, however it is requested that memorial donations be made to Community Chapel Church. The family will recieve friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 2 to 4 pm and again from 6 to 8 pm.
