Ronnie Purdy

Funeral services for Ronnie Purdy, age 57, of Demorest will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 from the Hillside Memorial Chapel. Rev. Austin Kelley will officiate with interment to follow the service in Clarkesville Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Purdy died Sunday, February 16, 2014 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Born on November 15, 1956 in Habersham County, Mr. Purdy was the son of Ethel Broome Purdy and the late Gordon Purdy. He was of the Baptist faith and retired from the City of Clarkesville where he worked in the Public Works Department. In addition to his father, Mr. Purdy is preceded in death by a son Ronald Lee Purdy.

Survivors include his wife Dorla Smith Purdy of Demorest, mother Ethel Broome Purdy of Baldwin, sons and daughters in law Jason and Diana Purdy and Travis and Samantha Purdy all of Demorest, sister and brother in law Ann and Reynolds Fry of Clarkesville, sister Jane Garrett of Alto, and three grandchildren; Travis, Daniel, and Jasmine.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
