Leola 'Mother' Meeks Jamerson

Leola "Mother" Meeks Jamerson, age 89, of Alto, Georgia, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2014.

Mrs. Jamerson was born on March 15, 1924 in Banks County, Georgia; daughter of the late Cornelius "Need" and Louisa Bonds Meeks. She was also preceded in death by her husband, J.D. Jamerson; brothers, Jiles Meeks, Comer Meeks, Donell Meeks, Tifton Meeks, Morgan Meeks and Adam Meeks; sisters, Clifford Davidson, Mattie Bell Pierce, Eva Davidson and Florene Davidson. Mrs. Jamerson was member of Antioch Holiness Church; she was a homemaker and enjoyed making quilts and crocheting.

Survivors include her daughter, Mary Ann Moore, Clarkesville; daughters and sons-in-law, Mattie Jean and Jacob Armour, Alto, Linda and Earl Armour, Lula; son and daughter-in-law, Jesse and Connie Jamerson, Alto; eight grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Jamerson was the last of her immediate family.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at Antioch Holiness Church, with Rev. Graylen Armour and Rev. Jeff Sparkman officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia.
