Zadie Adams

February 23rd, 1933 - February 20th, 2014

God opened up the gates of heaven for our dear mother, grandmother, and friend on February 20th, 2014. Zadie entered into life on February 23rd, 1933 by her parents; her father, Mark Dennis Bruce and her mother, Willie Mae Seay Bruce. Those that she will be joining in heaven are her brothers, Carlton Bruce, Calvin Bruce, Pierce Bruce and Grover Bruce; and her sisters, Ruby Bruce and RosaMay Bruce.

She leaves behind her sister Bessie Segars of Homer; her children, Kathy and Kenneth Cowart of Danielsville, Elaine and Tim Sims of Arcade, and Mitchell and Margie Adams of Commerce; grandchildren, Mark and Angie Bruce, Kent and Mindy Bruce, Chad and Deserae Adams, April Adams, Terrence and Keisha Bruce, Tina and David Passmore, Jessica Sellars, Johnthan and Jessica Porter, Chris Adams, Anthony Adams, and Jason and Marie Jordan. She was blessed to also have 26 great grandkids. Zadie was a retired seamstress from Sportsware of Commerce. She was of the baptist faith. Here on earth, she was loved by so many, we will always remember her smile, her laugh and her wonderful homemade biscuits. God gained an angel today and we will always have our memories of our dear friend, mother and granny.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday night from 7 PM until 9 PM. Services will be held Saturday at 1 PM in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Seay, Rev. Mitchell Appleby, and Rev. Julis Mack officiating. Interment will follow in Grey Hill Cemetery.

Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.
