Grady R. Allan

Obituary Date: Sunday, February 23, 2014

Mr. Grady R. Allan, 84 of Gainesville died Sunday February 23, 2014.



Born in Banks County, Mr. Allan had lived in Hall County for most of his life. He was the son of the late Charlton Revere and Bessie Louvenie Jordan Allan. He was a jeweler for Gem Jewelry and was a former member and deacon of Blackshear Place Baptist Church. He enjoyed giving back to his community and served as a court appointed advocate for Hall County Family and Children Services for many years. Mr. Allan was a Gideon and loved camping. He was a member of the Gainesville Hall County Family Campers for over 40 years. He served as a volunteer for the Georgia Emergency response team.



Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Mark R. and Carole Watson Allan, Gainesville; Donald C. and Emily Allan, Cleveland, Chris Allan, Cleveland, daughters and sons-in-law, Denise Allan Cameron and Mark Cameron, Gainesville, Karen Renee Allan Walters and Ernie Walters, Rockingham, North Carolina, 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren also survive.



Mr. Allan is preceded in death by his parents, and wife, Joyce Lester Allan.



Celebration of life services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday February 26, 2014 at the Poplar Springs Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.



The family will receive friends at Little & Davenport Funeral Home Tuesday February 25, 2014 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.
