Bobby Joe Caudell

Bobby Joe Caudell, age 76, of Baldwin, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2014 at his residence.

Born on December 13, 1937, in Banks County, he was a son of the late Lee and Myrtle Ausburn Caudell. Mr. Caudell was the owner and operator of The Steak House in Baldwin for 43 years and was a member of Baldwin Baptist Church. He also was a poultry farmer who proudly grew for Fieldale Farms and was honored as the first grower of Springer Mountain Farms.

Since 1972, Mr. Caudell was a dedicated member of the Rotary Club of Habersham where he was awarded 39 years of perfect attendance in 2011. He was also a member of the Banks County Cattleman's Association and the American Legion. Mr. Caudell was an avid NASCAR and University of Georgia football fan. He was also an Army Reserve.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Caudell was also preceded in death by a brother, Harold Caudell.

Survivors include son & daughter-in-law, Chan and Tammy Caudell of Cornelia; daughter & son-in-law, Tora Caudell-Pierce and Jerrie of Monroe; mother of his children, Linda Caudell of Baldwin; grandchildren, Gracie and Smith Caudell, Chasen, Zara, Adrian and Clay Pierce; great grandchild, Brayden Beddington; brother, Mack Caudell of Baldwin; sister, Mary Lou Meister of Baldwin.

Funeral services are 4:00 pm Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at Level Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Rice, Rev. Billy Burrell, Mr. John C. Foster and Mr. T. Andy Dowdy officiating.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home.
