Ronald Lum Buchanan

Mr. Ronald Lum Buchanan, age 81, of Dahlonega, GA died Monday, March 10, 2014, at Embracing Hospice House following an extended illness.

Ron Buchanan, loving husband of 57 years, was a man of strong stature, honesty and loyal beyond measure. A man of great faith in the Father, whose utmost concern was the provision and protection of his family. He will be greatly missed, but looking forward to spending eternity with this wonderful man.

Ron was born in Daytona Beach, Florida, February 18, 1933. He had lived in Lumpkin County for the past 15 years. He retired after 40 years from Ferry Hayes Interior Designers in Atlanta, GA, served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of Dahlonega Baptist Church where he served as Deacon Chair and Sunday School Director.

Ron was the son of the late Andrew Davis Buchanan and Letha Pitts Cox.

He is survived by his wife, Wylene Johnston Buchanan, Dahlonega, GA; daughter, Cheryl Buchanan of Dahlonega, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Andy and Barbara Buchanan of Peachtree City, GA; brother, Larry Buchanan of Sparta, GA; grandchildren, Eric Buchanan, Sarah Buchanan, Ashley Buchanan, David Buchanan, Amanda Evans and Elizabeth Evans; former daughter-in law, Stacy Wood.

A Celebration of Life service for Ron is scheduled for 2 PM Sunday, March 16, 2014 at Dahlonega Baptist Church in Dahlonega.

Rev. Bill Hutcheson will officiate.

The family will receive friends at Dahlonega Baptist Church in Dahlonega on Sunday, March 16, 2014 from 1 PM until 2 PM.
